Hello!
I'm Carlianne the award winning author illustrator of, How to draw Adorable and former artist for Disney Interactive. Here's some more about me!

How I Got My Start
I grew up in California and graduated from SJSU with a BFA in Animation/Illustration.
My first big job was working as a game artist for Disney Interactive, which I loved. But I eventually realized I had to leave game studios and follow my passion for creating children's media.
I then freelanced and worked in studio as a children's illustrator for the next seven years.
But I craved the freedom of telling my own stories, and sharing my own personal style with the world.

Award Winning Author/Illustrator
When I left my life working in studio as an illustrator, I decided to write and illustrate my own books, starting with "How to Draw Adorable" which I self published through a kickstarter campaign but is now traditionally published by Andrew McMeels and available internationally.
I'm ridiculously proud of my BIBA, IPPY and Next Generation Indie Publishing Awards and was fortunate enough to be honored with "Best Portfolio" at the SF SCBWI Illustrator's Day conference in 2021.

My Passion
I became an illustrator because I realized that my art had the power to make others feel happy. I became obsessed with making things that would make another person laugh or smile.
I have always been a big kid at heart so making cute art for kids, families and other moms is what makes my heart happy.
You'll see a lot of character, emotion and silliness in my work, I just love it!

My Mission
I am happiest when I'm creating art, and through my career. I often ran into others who wished they could've been an artist.
Becoming an artist was hard... but I know that I can make it easier and more fun for future generations.
I hope to inspire others into believing in their own art goals through my tutorials, videos and books.
But most importantly I hope we can have fun along the way. 💛
